A Mindful New Year
Some people love the new year and others dread it, a time of looking back on the last year and then looking ahead at what is yet to be known.
Below is an exercise I developed a few years ago that helps me focus my energy in a more productive, intentional way moving into the new year. It can be helpful for those of you who LOVE moving into the new year, as well as those who do not. I used this exercise with a client the other day who is often overwhelmed with looking into the unknown, and it was beautiful to see it reshape her perspective and create more ease moving into 2025.
Grab a piece of paper, journal, or your phone and consider…
Looking back at 2024:
What feels different on the inside from a year ago?
What looks different on the outside from a year ago?
How did you get through the hard stuff?
What advice would you give to your last year’s self?
Moving into 2025:
How do you want to feel?
What do you want to connect with in yourself or life?
What do you want to carry over?
*Where can you create little shifts?
*Beginning where you are allows you to create sustainable change, so you don’t have to be frustrated with being back at square one in a few days, weeks, or months:)
