Planting the Seeds of Self-Esteem

Many of us are looking for confirmation from other people.  We are looking for someone else to tell us we are okay, that what we did was good, that they are proud of us.  The problem is, that requires not only someone else, but the right someone else saying the right words that we need to hear.

So the next time you do something you’re proud of and go to share it with someone else, I’m giving you permission to pat yourself on the back.  This is not about being self-centered, this is about recognizing when you have done something in line with where you want to head in life. It’s about understanding what you most want for yourself and giving yourself the love and praise you would give to anyone else.

And I have a challenge for you...every once in a while, keep it to yourself.  Let it live in you instead of immediately sharing it outwardly.

No doubt, sharing your good stuff can help grow your relationships with other people, but keeping it to yourself on occasion helps you develop an amazing bond with the person closest to you…YOU!

This is a small way to start learning to know and trust ourselves, because, let’s face it, we are the only ones who will be with us every breath of our lives.  There’s a lot of people who think we are amazing, let’s start planting the seeds to believe it ourselves.
