What If You’re Actually Enough?
A thought I often come back to…is this situation really bad or is it just different than I expected?
So often we can get stuck in that space between our current reality and our expectations, which leads me to wonder, if you took a snapshot of your life right now, what would it look like?
We often feel as if what we are doing is not enough. What we have is not enough. Who we are is not enough.
But, if we didn’t know all of our past, all of our “issues”, all of our challenges, what would we see in this present moment?
We spend so much time in our heads comparing our current selves and lives to the expectations we set forth before we ever got to this moment, that when we are in this moment we aren’t able to see it clearly.
So stop for a moment. Take a snapshot. Look at it as a kind stranger would.
What do you see?
What are you pulling off?
What are you trying hard at?
What are you loving?
Who is showing you love that you’re not letting fully soak in?
In this moment, without spinning off into the past or the future, you might often realize that you are okay. That no matter what situation you are in, you are actually okay. That when your mind shuts off from telling you how the moment “should” be, you find beauty in what actually is.
Let it soak in.
